In 2007, Gordon and Fiona Hamersley will celebrate Hamersley’s Bistro’s 20-year anniversary. Throughout its impressive tenure, the restaurant has been one of the most influential and recognizable in Boston. Boston magazine’s “Best of Boston” has recognized Hamersley’s Bistro multiple times, with the most recent being “Best Service” in 2006. Food & Wine named Gordon one of the country’s best new chefs in 1988 and the James Beard Foundation awarded him Best Chef: Northeast in 1995. Gordon's cookbook, Bistro Cooking at Home (Broadway Books: 2003), won the International Association of Culinary Professionals Cookbook Award in the Chefs and Restaurants category. Currently in its fifth printing, the book offers a complete menu of delicious selections and wine suggestions by Fiona for cooks who crave sophisticated but easy-to-prepare comfort food à la française.
