The vivacious African-American women of Divas Uncorked, Inc. seek to improve women’s appreciation of and comfort around wine through their annual “Wine, Women and…” conference in Boston and other educational wine events open to all. The Divas Uncorked Collaborative Consortium helps wineries, distributors and retailers expand to reach diverse consumer markets. Divas Uncorked partnered with California’s Mendocino Wine Company to create a 2005 Mendocino County Divas Uncorked Chardonnay. With a suggested retail price of $12.99 and an “uncorked” bottle with an au courant Stelvin® screw-cap, this inaugural release of the Divas Uncorked label is a direct testament to the ladies’ mantra of “wine savvy, not wine snobby.”
